1. Rinse: Always do this immediately after removing your aligners from your mouth or the case. Use warm or cool water.

2. Soak: Cleanse your retainer using with your favorite cleaning solution (like Retainer Brite, DentaSoak, or EverSmile WhiteFoam) and let it soak for about five minutes. This will help keep your aligners clean, odor-free, and invisible.

3. Scrub: Use warm water and a soft-bristled toothbrush to scrub your retainer gently. Be sure to reach all the smallest crevices because that’s where bacteria breed. Brush your retainer every single day, ideally more than once. You can also use a clear anti-bacterial soap to make sure you are killing all of the cavity-causing bacteria lingering on your aligners.

4. Rinse Again: Again, rinse with water thoroughly. You don’t want to put your aligners back into your mouth with soap or other substances.

5. Put It Back: When you aren’t brushing or soaking it, your retainer should always be either in your mouth (For 22 hours a day) or back in its case. Remember to NEVER eat or drink anything besides water when wearing your aligners.
